Might be the service has failed to keep pace with the increase in population.
Over the last 50 years it's increased by 11 million and by 3.5 million in the last 10 years.
Supermarkets have their own estimation on the amount of food they sell.

There is a suspicion that the Tories are running down the NHS deliberately in order to force people to go private.
They use the problems of the NHS to suggest that public health systems aren't efficient, more and more people are turning to private health providers because they have no choice.

NHS budget has increased from £105 billion in 2011 to £160 billion in 2023 that is a 52% increase (inflation was only 30%) and we also have about 11% more doctors and nurses

Has the tory party really ran down the NHS ?

There's a few things that puzzle me about our NHS & one of the BIG ones is WTF are politicians doing interfering in it anyways?

Why does nursing now have to be a university course putting people into debt what is up with the way it was done before

Because our society used to invest a lot of money in their training, then the day after they qualified they jumped on an aeroplane & went to work in a healthcare system that didn't invest lots of money into their nurse training.

so how does putting them in debt stop this and its quite simple to put a caveat on that they have to do so many years or pay a percentage of training back as many industries do

Thy have run it down in part by failing to invest the huge additional costs arising from growth in annual demand. It will be a headache that Starmer will struggle massively with too, because he has promised not to raise income tax.

Blup

It stops the money being sucked out of our economy . . . . And maybe those caveats weren't put in place due to the extreme pressures placed on our politicians by the people that benefitted from a ready supply of well trained nurses, & doctors, & dentists, & . . . . .

They used to call it "The Brain Drain" but your MSM made you believe it was all about top level research scientists.

As usual it is always difficult to know what to beleieve - but this from a nurses web site is interesting

numbers from previous years taken from the same nurses web site.
2013 - 675,000
2014 - 680,000
2015 - 686.000
2016 - 692,000
2017 - 690,000

So are they really leaving in droves, and can we really not recruit.
Why is the NHS in such crises, Is it more unhealthy people needing more treatment, or do nurses just not work as hard ? I would love to know the real truth but in this world of smoke and mirrors that is not always possible.
That’s all nurses NHS + private

Why is the NHS in such crises
Too many private contracts sucking out the money

look at the amount of money temp agencies make from the NHS
and then there’s consultants, PFI payments, contracted out services etc etc

Someone doesn't understand the figures!
(and it is 'run down')

Core inflation actually rose over that period by 36%.

But how about applying that figure with an ever ageing/needy population that has been hit by ever decreasing social care funds...

Oh, and have you taken into account the tens of billions wasted on the 'virus' that come in those NHS financial figures?

Kind of brings that claim of yours into disrepute ;)

Yep...

All those billions spent on repeated 'virus' jabs/tablets...

How did those private pharma company profit margins fare?

Covid certainly allowed opportunistic corruption, but Covid is genuine and the vaccines were vital to break the link between covid and hospitalisation
