Not amused.

Only in America
Police arrested a Pastor who was watering his neighbours flowers while they were on vacation - despite a neighbour telling them it was a mistake.
He was charged with Government obstruction.

There are two ways to look at this.
The neighbour did the right thing by calling the police because she didn't know who he was at the time. He could have been someone 'casing the joint', as the saying goes, and using the hose as a cover story.
He could have avoided the whole situation by showing them proof of who he really was when asked to do so. He did not need to go on about racial profiling because the police would have/should have behaved in the same manner if the bloke had been of other ethnic origin, (white, Chinese, Pakistani, Indian etc).
But then it wouldn't have made the international news if he had complied.

Apart from him telling them who he was, that he was there with authority, and the next door neighbour identifying him.
All he did was refuse to produce paperwork ID because it wasn’t legal for the police to ask for it.
The police charged him as retaliation.
All charges were dropped

After the neighbour admitted her mistake to the police officers they should simply have let the matter drop, maybe offer an apology to a Church minister being neighbourly. They didn't and, as Tiger-Rider points out, charged him out of spite. No wonder BLM seethes with resentment.
