paintwork on silver volvo

In an attempt to remove tar spattering I mistakenly used the rough side of a sponge and have left scratch marks on the car paintwork. I assume there is a coating finish. Can anyone suggest treatment on a diy basis please.

Thanks for the tip. Managed to get the T-Cut today. Waiting for fine weather.Jim
