I’ve got some spare paving slabs that I’d like to lay on this space. I would like to use sand and cement to level them with the existing concrete.

I was unsure on how I need to prep this ground so that the slabs don’t sink, etc.

I also have a grinder and can cut the slabs to size.

Thanks in advance.

Id just scrape off 100mm of soil. Gravel to level and sharp sand and cement.

What about an aco drain along?

I’ve dug this up and was wondering whether I can pour some shingle, compact it, pour some MOT and compact and finally use a mortar mix to set the paving slabs.

You can set them up on an aluminum subframe if you're feeling flush. Provides good drainage.

500kg of Type 1 will give 100mm sub-base. 200kg of Sharp Sand and 3-4 bags of cement should give a good strong mix at 50mm depth.

Having a rethink on this. I’ve got 8 bags of sand and 3 cement. Can I mix these or add some ballast to fill this space in instead?

I have a similar issue, Concrete slab path around house and then need to pack soil further out with Type 1 to match height of the concrete before mortar and flags.
However my issue is that the concrete slab appears to have sunk about 20/30mm looking at the mark on the house wall. If I flag over that and onto the new type 1 bed. will it cause the slabs to crack over time if it sinks further.

I have about 22 square meters.
whats the coverage for 100mm of type 1 by weight?
I may need to get it delivered loose and put the old back to work

As for drainage by the wall, Do you need to chuck a bit of mortar behind it or just it it loose? I assume it just sits on the type 1 at the correct depth.
