I suspect I already know the answer to this :( When building a two storey extension to a chalet bungalow under GPDO, within two metres of the boundary, and therefore with the requirement "for the maximum eaves height to be no more than 3 metres", do the barge boards on a gable (not facing the boundary) that runs up to a 5 metre ridge constitute 'eaves'? i.e. would the following be possible:

full

  1. "Maximum eaves and ridge height of the extension must be no higher than the existing house. If the extension is within two meters of a boundary the maximum eaves height should be no higher than three meters to be a Permitted Development."
