The Labour party is an anachronism; it was fine when boys went down the mine, and it was relevant after the war, but in the seventies and eighties, it became a destructive force encouraging strikes against the so called rich, but nowadays, it has no validity whatsoever, and only survives by playing on peoples sense of injustice, and by offering handouts to get people to vote for them.
Unfortunately, politics and religion are things that you get taught by your parents, and you then follow them blindly. Fortunately, there are those that keep re-evaluating their existence, and realise that Labour doesn't work, because it actually keeps down those it purports to be supporting. The unemployed are taught that it's okay to sit on benefits, get fat, and then expect the state to look after them, and the kids at poor performing schools as taught that it's the grammar schools that caused their failure in life, not the bad teachers they had. And they then go on to become parents that teach their kids that they are owed everything in life, yet have no responsibilities.
JohnD kept harking on that once the old dies off, the Brexit vote would get changed back by the young, but he didn't realise that the young grow up, get experience, and you see through all the lies and incompetence of those on both sides, so they choose the lesser of the two evils through gritted teeth, but they do it because they know it's the right thing to do. The left leaning on this site will never change their political viewpoint because they are too entrenched in the soundbites they've been spoon fed, but it'd be interesting to see what their kids do.
