It's all a learning curve.

I have a job tomorrow morning replacing kitchen tap valves or as sometimes Tye case replace the tap.
I said

£60 + parts up to 1st hour then £60 P/H after that split into 4 quarters (£15P/Q)

She's come back and ask do I do free quotes.

Say no.
As far as I am concerned you have explained your terms. You could give her an idea of how long it should take, explaining issues can extend time.

I only did free quotes for big jobs (boilers , fires etc).
Sometimes the quote can take almost as long as the job, especially when they want to think about it”

I have. I don't mind giving estimates if yhey send me pictures. Saves waisting my time

Make sure that you state clearly that it is an estimate, though
