now that the elec regs have changed to allow certain electrics in bathrooms, i wonder if you could fit a kickspace under the bath.

under the bath is outside the zones anyway so long as there is a panel fitted that requires a tool to remove.
a 30Ma RCD protection should also be used.
 
Its not that simples!

I agree that under the bath is outside zones. But that would apply to the electrical connections at the rear of the heater. The switches and stat controls on the plinth heater will be in Zone 2. (And a potentially wet part of zone 2 - at bathroom floor level).

As your heater will not be SELV then it will need to be IPX4 or better. And also need to be approved by the manufacturer to be suitable for use in the bathroom.



Think of panel heaters as an example: Dimplex make panel heaters.
They make the EPX. This has exposed controls and is not suitable for use in bathrooms.
They also make a variant (PLX) that has its controls behind a locked plastic cover. The PLX may be used in bathrooms.
