This is the view of Hay bluff and the Black mountains form our holiday property. Monkhall cottages https://www.monkhallcottages.co.uk/index.cfm We may have been lucky with the weather but its hard to beat the scenery in Herefordshire, Worcestershire South Shropshire. Cider is better in Devon but the more I try from Hereford (purely in the purpose of making an objective comparison) they are not doing too bad a job.

Had to pop the cooling coat on the dog today - she was panting like a good 'un and it cools her right down. Could do with one myself!

Very poor quality photo - taken quickly on my iPad - but Mrs Mottie just alerted me to a Great Spotted Woodpecker on our apple tree doing what woodpeckers do. Absolutely stunning colours but as soon as it saw me, it was off in a flash.
