More work on the floor today. Im running some Ethernet cables before laying it so had some boards up. Now, whenever I do anything indoors I always try to leave a time capsule, a message to myself or something else to be discovered at a later date. Today I unearthed a newspaper that I laid down, Co-incidentally dated on my daughters 13th birthday. My memory may be playing tricks but I’m sure there’s a bottle of wine that I laid down in a plastic bag under the next floor. We'll see! A few snaps from some of the articles:

Just a few more from a local newspaper dated 1991. We moved here in 1990 - I think it was more violent then - look at the stories on the front and back pages!

And if only I'd have bought a few of these Escorts and stored them away. The Mk2 Sport would be worth a few Bob these days as well as the MK1 RST.

No shortage of Dagenham Dustbins for sale. Keeping the local economy going. And a wages snatch too. Don't get proper crimes so much like that. Give me a proper blag over cybercrime any day. You're nicked!!!

A few sunbeams and some fungi on the way to my walk this morning. As we were walking through the woods, I heard what I assumed a branch or piece of wood falling and crashing through the trees followed by a thump as it hit the ground about 20 feet away from me. I was a squirrel that must have missed its footing. The dogs started to go over to investigate and it staggered to the tree and climbed up out of reach of them. It seemed to hang there for a while and then made a full recovery and scrambled quickly back up the tree.

is there a house price section?

Only this piece - the paper is falling to pieces. We moved into our house in March 1990 and paid £105,000 (when it first came on the market it was priced at £130,000) and then house prices started dropping. Next door but one to us sold at the bottom of the market and went for £71,000 !!!

Larry LaPrise the composer of the Hokey Cokey died in 1996, at the undertakers there was some consternation trying to get him into the coffin, they put his left leg in......, on lighter note we were on a cruise between St Petersburg & Moscow, some of our fellow travellers were Vietnamese, on the last night there was a "talent" show and the finale was the Hokey Cokey which they all joined in with gusto if a little bemused
