PS3 12GB

Hi,

Not a "problem" as such but I've just seen the PS3 12GB for 135 quid at Tesco. My old 40GB PS3 gave up the ghost one day and according to the repair shop, it can't be fixed (it accepts games/DVD's but just has the loading symbol up constantly without doing anything).

Should I get the 12GB or will it run out of space - please note that I am not a gamer at all and only use it on the very odd occasion. What exactly is the hard drive for on a games console?

The hard drive is for saving your current game state, your achievements, updates, downloads etc.

Thanks, I don't play much at all, is this sufficient for a few games wort, I don't download from the internet or anything?

I dont think its 12gb more like 120gb in that case you will be fine, to be honest if you change out your hard drive on your old one it will probably be fine. I put a 1tb in my old 60gb ps3 plenty of space

You're not thinking, you're just talking. 12GB models exist, and 20 seconds of research would tell you that.
