Serious question not a **** take in any form at all.
Are you for independence from England can you give me your view any way ?
Just curious and would like to know your views whichever way they are.
I have no opinion on what Scotland should do its totally up to you In my view.

Scotland is apparently run by the yesnp. I've made my own mind up about the EU and I personally think we'd be better off out. No doubt if the UK decides to vote "out" , then that pretty (ugly) thing Nicola Sturgeon , is going to be knocking at the EU's door asking if Scotland can retain it's membership. No doubt she'll be asking for another independence referendum. She (and the rest of the SNP) realise that an independent Scotland can't possibly survive without the back up of the EU and their money. Oil revenue is dropping faster than an accountant out of a window in New York during the great depression. Faslane will be mothballed, contributing to the decline in Scottish industry. The new Forth crossing will be scrapped, when they run out of money to continue, and the present one will become a monument. We'll be going back to the good old days of the South - North Queensferry ferries. (took hours of queueing up to get aboard an ageing tub ) Yep, things are looking rather dour, north of the border.

One thing I don't understand is how anyone can feel that Scotland should withdraw from the United Kingdom in order to regain independence and not be bound by the decisions of a parliament way down in Westminster (a very reasonable outlook in itself), yet at the same time want it to remain within the EU, where it will be dictated to even more by Brussels as time goes on and more and more power is handed over to the EU.

Personally I was glad Scotland voted to remain part of the UK. Left to Alex Salmond, and now that strident, objectional woman, it's hard to see how a completely independant Scotland could survive.
Oil from the North Sea is in terminal decline even when the oil price picks up, and Scotland couldn't wholly depend on that for their spending plans.
And hoping to be part of the EU because of subsidies and handouts is equivalent to living off benefits. Surely Scotland does not want to be another Greece?

Another puzzling consideration. The SNP are horrible leftists yet all of their independence appear to be right wing as you can be. They all want independence and seem to be happy supporting a lefty party to get it even though they shouldn't like any of their policies on europe or immigration.

One things for sure,,, If the UK leaves the EU, then the SNP have another referendum and Scotland leaves the union, I'll be moving south of the border. Yep, I'll be one of these economic migrants :LOL::LOL::LOL:

Why should the SNP have another referendum if the UK votes 'leave'? - the last one was supposed to be 'for a generation'.

Oh, wait a minute, I forgot; our spineless yes-man of a PM will be ordered by that horrible woman to hold another referendum - and he will do what he is told.

Well, (for those of you with short memories) Alex Salmond said before the referendum that, win or lose, there will be no further referendum. It was (as he said) A once in a generation opportunity. Nicola Sturgeon on the other hand said Scottish Independence isn't an if, it's a when. As far as I'm aware, she's the one in charge of the Scottish Parliament, not Salmond. Aye she's more wily than a certain cartoon coyote. I'm sure if the UK does vote to leave the EU, she'll be the first person knocking on the door of 10 Downing St asking for another referendum.

I'm sure if the UK does vote to leave the EU, she'll be the first person knocking on the door of 10 Downing St asking for another referendum.

In that case, if she wanted - and got - a second referendum after a possible Brexit, Scotland would end up being either completely independant, or apply to be part of the EU.
And would the EU be in a financial state (after Brexit) to admit another country which may well be a net recipient of funds?

As someone else has said, we live in interesting times.

I'm confident that should the UK vote to leave the EU, any repeat Scottish referendum will see a Scottish majority voting against independence - and Sturgeon knows it!
