Raynor the tax dodger

But isn't that why she received legal advice? And the legal advice told her that the amount of tax she was paying was correct. And it all went through HMRC. It was only later, when presumably better qualified people were helping with her finances, that they raised it, and she immediately reported the error.

Tax dodgers and fraudsters do not do this. They tell their advisors to keep quiet and give them a little Christmas bonus.

On the radio it said she was advised by 3 different people, no mention of the words 'legal advice', she 'immediately' reported the error when she realised the press weren't going to let go of the story.

This sounds like a witch hunt to me. She, like any of us, had conveyencers doing the legal stuff to buy her flat. It was probably either an admin error on their side, or they deliberately stiched her up cos they don't like working class northern labour women buying nice flats on their patch. It's odd that they are saying nothing to do with them, as from my experiences of buying and selling houses, they would know every facet of the transaction and what it means - that is literally what they are paid to do.
The firm that sold her the house have said they had nothing at all to do with the payment of stamp duty they advised her to get her own tax advisors as they do with all their clients.

I'm still getting up to speed. But it seems that the missing piece of information is who are the people she is claiming gave her the tax advice.

Didn't the Telegraph break the story. I haven't followed it but have just been swotting up.
The story has been going for several weeks obviously after her past history someone thought let's see what she has done this time....

Just plain old mortgage advisors. She never took advice just took the money

The firm have said we are not to blame so stop pointing fingers at us and firing arrows into our backs which I can already feel or words to that effect

Using the sob story of it was for her handicapped child isn't a great look.

Two firms have said that now. The one which acts as trustee and the one which did the conveyancing.

Here is the HMRC guidance I posted yesterday on the other thread if anyone might find it useful:

Starmer has to show her the door. Sorry about this Darl, See ya.

Fek I will need to have a word with my kids and tell them I got it wrong giving them 180k each for their houses they should have been buying their future inheritance in the family home

If she stays, I want a rebate on the tax I feel I needn't have paid.

The info needed is on the Gov.uk website, not even half a page down on relevant section, if expert advice is needed for this, then god help us, she has probably kept quiet about it, until she got found out, and if not, is she capable of being a minister.
