Hi,

Does anyone have an explanation of how I can scribe skirting 1" x 7" Ogee into my bay window?

The angle is 30 degrees off the internal wall (mitred) - so 120 off the external (front wall) - if that makes sense.

With the profile of the Ogee, it's not possible to scribe surely?!

My brain is hurting trying to work this one out!

I could mitre the join, but it never looks as tidy.

Someone must know?!

simple explination :D ;)

both bits on a 90 deg angle are cut at 90 deg with a mtr at 45 to give you edge to cut you scribe against
both bits on a 30 deg angle are cut at 60 deg with a 15deg angle[half the corner]

the secret is you need to cut 45deg as thats half of the90 to give your scribe edge
but on 30 you need to cut the unscribed bit at 60 to match the wall

you then cut scribe face at 15 deg [half the angle]you then need to angle your scribe cut back at 75 deg from the cut face that will be an equal angle to the face of the other bit of skirting

clear as mud eeehhh

No - Sorry! Can't get me 'ed round that

I'll try and follow it and let you know though.

I can undertand this with simple profiles, but not with Ogee profile.

Thanks! :D
