Hi,

The light in my bedroom is controlled by 2 switches. One at the door 7 1 over the bed.

I removed the one over the bed, and now the light will not work.

Have I done something wrong??

What wires were there in the switch over the bed, what terminals were they connected to and what did you do with them when you removed it?

Hi I have looked at the wiring now and can comfirm:

disconected switch:
2 x brown wires 1 x blue
This is now in a block

Switch I would like to use:
2 x brown wires & 1 x blue

I have also checked a switch in another room which only operates on a one way and it has the same. It is wired as follows:
2 x brown into COMM
1 x blue into L1

I have tried wiring the switch I want to use as follows:
2x brown into COMM & blue into L1 - light does not work :!:
1 x brown into COMM (tested before to make sure it was live)
When I put the voltage tester next to the L2 terminal on the switch when it is wired like this it lights up :?:

1 x blue into L1 - light does not work :!:

Do I need to do anything more with the disconeccted switch :?:

Help

What are you attempting to do? Remove the switch completely or replace it?
Forget what you have in the other the 1 way switch in the other room you are looking at, the wiring is different in a 2 way configuration.
Throw your neon screwdriver in the bin - anything that uses you as part of a circuit should be destroyed.
Yes, you will need to do something with the wires which have been disconnected!

Hi There,

Basically wanting to take off one of the switches and turn the light into a 1 way circuit.

At te moment the wires in the switch I want to remove are put into a block.
