Hi all,
First of all let me start off by apologising for what is probably going to be a barrage of stupid questions.
I have decided to re-decorate the spare room in preperation of our new arrival (due 5th feb).
I want to replace the existing light switch with a metal dimmer
Existing Shaving socket with a metal blank plate
existing plastic blank plate with a metal blank plate.
but one at a time and lets start with what i expect to be the easiest.
The replacing of the blank plate (not even sure why it's actually there)
I have removed the plastic cover and noticed there are 3 wires hanging down,
1 Red
1 Black
1 Brown
about 1cm of copper cable showing on each!
Also i notice on the new metal plate there is a terminal for one of the wires, I presume it's for the earth but are any of the above the earth??
can someone point me in the right direction as to what i need to do and do it safely??
Thanks
Steve
