Replacing fused spur with socket?

The spur is on the ring, the cable to the fridge socket is the same as the other 2 (thick flat gray stuff) and the fridge socket is the only one on the spur. the whole house was rewired 2 years back so it all should be up to code. also the fridge/freezer is frost free and has a off switch.

Well in that case who ever rewired it was an idiot.

AND WHY is that?

For feeding a single socket through a fused spur. The plug in the socket has a fuse anyway.

Don't worry about that. When do those fuses blow anyway?

Besides, if an integrated fridge freezer should ever get used, one can fit a flex outlet behind, so the plug doesn't stick out too much.

The fuses blow when there is a fault.

Hard wired fridge/freezers are a pain when it is time for replacement for non technical people. That is why they are fitted with plugs.
