havent got a clue about what you refer too but assume its similar to trimming 12mm off a bathroom door to allow the extractor to draw in fresh air from the house to allow the fan to work easy ??

It was discussed in depth on radio 2 on Friday.
Yes they are on about cutting a big chunk out of the bottom of all the school doors to allow for better ventilation.
However it has been pointed out that this is absolutely contrary to the fire regulations and all doors in the schools that have our kids in must be capable of keeping a fire out for 20-60 minutes i.e. fire doors. Chopping bits off of them is an absolutely stupid thing to do, If I was a Scottish head teacher it would be a case of
"Not in my fekking school we won't!!"

I heard that. The best suggestion on there was from the other bloke who suggested a 20 pence wedge to hold the door open slightly.

School near me was wedging doors open until a visit from the fire officer, they had to fit about 30 auto closers at £300 a pop

IF they were to do it they would need to replace all the doors once Covid has passed at a cost of £lots.
Simply using a rubber wedge to keep the door open would achieve the same thing (and still against fire regs) and is a non door damaging solution.
However, the nutters who know nowt are in government.
Fire regs will put a stop to this nonsence and they will have to fit ventilation, put up with an open window etc.
