The news reported at the time was easily checked by looking at other sources, of anybody's choice.

The recent issue is a panorama program, not "the news".

Nope. Money spent on illegals is money that cannot be spent on useful things for people who have a right to be in the U.K.

On the subject of Brexit - we had a vote, you voted leave, did you forget?
On the 4.2bn wasted (I assume you have a credible source), we also wasted a lot on parallel vaccine development, in order to be ahead of the queue when it came to rolling out the ones that worked. Crisis, war, pandemic etc involves waste. Guess what: we got our vaccines early, because we actually had a pretty decent plan. I am certain plenty of people lived as a result.
