I found that I had a cancerous mole after it went a funny shape. It was on my shoulder were I could see it but if it was on my back I wouldn't have seen it. It was cut out and after further surgery a piece of skin the size of a 50p was removed down to the flesh/fat level. I had others on my back done as well.
If the moles were not removed they send cancerous cells in to the Lymph glands.
This all happened very quickly and now I have to be checked every 6 months.
Just thought I'd let you know because you may not know how aggressively
this can happen and all for the want of a check up occasionally.

Had mine removed 4 yrs ago and I didn't know the mole was there, right at the top of the upper inner thigh, your mirror is your best friend ;)

Apparently fi you have your "balls" removed, it increases your life expectancy by 13 yrs

Thank you for the post wreckedit it is absolutely essential that we pay attention to anything suspicious.
There are two types of skin cancer, the type that you have suffered I would imagine is melanoma There is another type...basal cell cancer that is localised but still needs treatment as it can be locally invasive.
I have had this skin cancer myself and on three separate occasions my doctor has dismissed my concern and it has only been on my own insistence on recognizing the symptoms that I have had them treated.
If you are concerned at all please do insist that you see a specialist....

Glad u r ok Wreckedit :)

Thanks for that Squeaky but I also have what Susiejb talked about, Basil cell cancer. This is causing me a problem because when the Doc marked them up with a marker pen it wore off. She said I was to use a cream on them which is going to take some time to get from my chemist. I have managed to just see the marks again and mark them but I have to do this for 6+ weeks. Is there some other way of marking them? I've tried Permanent Marker but that wears off too.
I did think at the clinic they would zap them with liquid nitrogen but as it would leave me a festering spotted dick, I declined. I'll ask to go back because messing about with spots on my front and back is maddening.
I know I'm having a little problem because its really insignificant to the problems that some have I saw at the clinic.
Considering I'm not a sun bather all this has surprised me.

Hi there wreckedit, would it help to maybe take a photograph, and compare it weekly.
Liquid nitrogen works but OUCH it hurts.
It is important to catch them early....I have just had six stitches out of my latest one, they soon take hold and then you end up having them cut out.

W/E there is no such thing as a 'litle problem' when it comes to cancer, or any other threatening ailment come to that! You have to treat it seriously because it could be serious! Never apologise for writing about something like this. It has given some of us valuable information we didn't know about before.
Thank you.

My mates were so surprised(sad people) that i can go to hospital and have a camera, top and tailed, as the nurses called it  as i was bleeding out the bum(farmers), and a few polyps that were removed.
My next check was next year, got a letter the other week, leave it for three years  government cuts. But you should check your poo, different colours of sheet tell a different story.
