What would be the method to join this cable below that goes to the socket in this post?

To join the cables, typically you would use a 30 or 32 amp junction box.

You can use one with screw down connections, or if it is considered that the joint would be 'inaccessible', you would use a maintenance free type junction box.

I bought one of the junction box, unfortunately it doesn't fit the cable.

So, I modified and done this- image below. Is it ok?
