Assad has denied the attack and given what happened last time it really makes no sense that he would order these attacks knowing that the US is watching his every move. As per the Russian fiasco what is the motive?

When the police investigate a murder the first thing they usually look for is a motive, Assad is now in a tricky position, the Americans say they are 'locked and loaded' to hit Assad if there is another chemical attack, so it follows if this attack is a set up then you can guarantee that there will be another attack in order to invite more retaliation from the Americans perhaps on an even bigger scale than the last.
