just pulled up, pop to cash point arount corner wait in Q came back to find ticket on van, what is the point of these spaces. surely a half hour meter would be better, or a 20 min space would be fine no moaning from me but 10 is a trap and fund raiser for the councils

It might be worth appealing against the ticket. You should get some grace of a few minutes. I have heard that over 30% of tickets appealed are successful.

Surely theres more than one cash machine close by? I can think of 6 within a mile of my house, as well as 3 outlets that do cashback.

how many minutes do you claim you were there?

What times are shown on the ticket?

parked 18 mins  and No this is not a big city but a small town,
soz, forgot to say took 5 min to get a paper. but still 10 mins is no time .come on council make all street parking minimum 20mins and no-one could moan, after that they should have gone to a car park, if they could find a space. i will try and appeal

:? dont park hear fool :?

Don't know about where you are but around here they had put disk zones up around the main streets and by the banks. The only problem with the disk zone by the bank is one sign says Disk Zone, 1 hour and the other at the opposite end just says 1 hour.
As for 6 within a mile, I can only think of 4 and one cashback

I successfully appealed a ticket.

AFAICT, the ticket issued usually has two time stamps on it: time first seen & time of issue. There must be a difference between these two times (ie you must have been given an opportunity to buy a ticket).

In my case, the ticket was issued at the same time as the car was first seen.

I didn't think he meant a car park, we have residential areas around here which have 10min waiting times for non-resident permit holders or other restrictions such as 1h disk zone. They may still have to print both times on the ticket though, I don't know.

spark123. itb was a 10 min zone as you said, not a car park, i have put the ticket in a safe place and now cant find it

I'm sure if you apply to the council they'll send you another one
Don't you only get so long to pay before they up the charge?

Once you start an appeal you have as long as it takes.
If at the end you lose the appeal, you then pay what the charge was before the appeal.

I thought if you paid it within 14 days it is half price or something daft like that. I haven't had a parking ticket in over 10 years so can't remember now 8)
