Hi - another day another question - thanks so much for the help and all the info on the forum for helping to get this far.

I have added an Exodus rate of rise heat detector in my garage to a PSU200XP expander panel. The Odyssey X3 is also wired to the expander as is the keypad.
When I simulate an alarm from the Exodus heat detector (disconnect one terminal as set up as normally closed) the keypad sounds which is good, but the external bell does not. I had expected it to give of a distinct alert. I also notice that there is no alert on the Texecom Connect app.

The zone is set as fire, the bell is wired to an output and set as Bell SAB, all are set to the same area.

I have checked and the external bell works fine and alerts are received when there is an intruder alarm, just not fire.

Screen grabs of outputs and zones from Wintex attached for ref.

Any advice for what I might be missing appreciated.

Thanks all
Matt

Area ….unarmed fire comms ….and check speaker tones …for fire ….the normal setting is bell pulses on / off when fire active

Thanks very much - I have found the unarmed fire comms setting and have enabled. That should sort out the alerts on the Texecom Connect app which iw ill try to test soon, thanks - any ideas about why the bell connected to the expander output isn't sounding on fire? I'm not sure where to go as per your comment "check speaker tones …for fire ….the normal setting is bell pulses on / off when fire active". If you can point me in the right direction though I would expect this to already be set up for external sounder??

it should follow the programming, there was/is a fire delay option couldnt tell you without looking.

it does sound different from the normal tone when it activates.

I have looked and the delay is set to 0. It's not activating any tone from external sounder, though yes, I was expecting a distinct one. I have left it for ages to see if it was a delay but after many minutes of the keypad alarm going off the external sounder stayed silent.

I would put the zone to not used and then back on again as fire via the keypad, this is a 640 panel if its till not working.

been a few having issues with this recently and did post something on the Texecom forum as a colleague had issues in London, with hard wired system and went through various things before getting it to work just cant remember what. I know the wireless ones have to be tested with smoke, but that shouldn't apply to the hard wired ones.

what is resistance showing for the zone?

Will check resistance And report back in a bit. Interesting that you have seen this elsewhere. Yes a 640 panel with bell keypad and exodus wired to expander. I will try to add via keypad tomorrow. Hope to solve this as also want to add smokes to two other areas with their own expanders and bells etc but will get this one sorted first.

cant remember if the 640 panel has a bell circuit on the pcb, if it does it might be worth trying that to see if its a network issue. dont see many 640s to be fair

think his was via an output to a zone or a relay but will see if i can find it in my whats app messages as searching on texecom forum isn't so easy

Resistance 0K, last activated >100K. Just connected as straight NC until can get it working then may add resistors.

he looked at turning the attributes off in the fire zone although this shouldn't be needed and it was a relay firing the zone and on a keypad and we could see the zone switching state in view zone status

this was posted in the Texecom forum and JG did reply according to my whats app messages with me mate in London

it was around friday 10th January if that help you find it
Thanks - I found the discussion. I wonder if I am having a different issue though. The alarm is triggering as the keypads sound an alert it is just the external sound that is connected to the expander that stays silent. I will test without the attributes though.
