so before i post such questions hear, i wanted to check if the site are not banning such discussions about oil fired boilers and other heating oil equipment (like they do with the gas)
I have not noticed any special area for oil, or solid fuel, I do work on the odd time with boilers, but to be frank where I work they are very strict on who does what. And to be a driver one has to be a fireman first, and it looks too much like hard work for some one of my age, so never bothered.
In the main boilers are not really boilers, we would consider them faulty if they did boil the water. The main problem is you need test equipment to set pressures etc, and for a service once a year simply not worth buying the equipment, so easier to get some one in to service it.

There's no ban on discussing gas boilers, what's are you on about? It's probably one of the most discussed topics here. The only thing we don't do is advise DIYers on anything related to them working on the gas section of a boiler. And yes, we can talk about oil fired boilers too. Do you have a question about an oil fired boiler?
Based on experience of the OP's other threads and that this thread so far appears to be warning shots only, it might be advisable not to stick head above parapet!
