Thus economic migrants to Libya, then refugees to Europe.

That is a sad and pathetic attempt to split hairs. Being economic migrants in the first place, they had every opportunity to return home, instead they chose to try for better prospects in Europe, so are still qualified as economic migrants lookong for the best place to park themselves.

If you move elsewhere to find a better job, but have to move again because you didn't find one, does that make you a refugee as well then.

Stock RWR response. Predictable and dull as dishwater as per, M itch.(y)

Come on Noesall, it was a sarcastic answer to a stupid attitude from Wannabe in the first place. You could just as easily have a go at Wannabe for trying to be so clever, yet snide, in trying to deny that the UN stated that most refugees are actually just economic migrants. But the so called let wing libertards don't like their precious ideals being challenged do they.

You really are so desperate to prove yourself right Wannabe (is that as in I allways Wannabe right) that you ignore the real facts.

Here's
the article release by the UNHCR, and here's the part that the papers reported on.
According to the study, refugees and migrants in Libya are predominantly young men (80%), aged 22 on average and travelling alone (72%). Women tend to transit towards Europe over a short period of time and many of them, particularly those from West and Central Africa, are victims of trafficking. The number of unaccompanied and separated children travelling alone is rising, and now represents some 14% of all arrivals in Europe via the Central Mediterranean route. These children come mainly from Eritrea, The Gambia and Nigeria.

Families tend to flee confilict, not young men on their own, so it's reasonable to assume that most will be economic migrants, but I'm sure that you'll even disagree with the UN's report as well.

Dickhead!
Can you not read the report?
the UN Refugee Agency, has found that around half of those travelling to Libya do so believing they can find jobs there, but end up fleeing onwards to Europe to escape life-threatening insecurity, instability, difficult economic conditions plus widespread exploitation and abuse.
Which is exactly the same sentence that I provided earlier.

It was the papers report about the proportion of refugees V migrants, that you have adopted as fact  :
but in reality, at least 7 out of 10 are reckoned to be economic migrants. Many manage to lose their passports, but that's because they could be identified as coming from non war zone countries, so would get rejected.

Are you the expert on how/who/why/when refugees emerge?

Merkel has warned Hungary that they will face financial consequences if it defies an EU ruling ordering it to accept its allocated share of
refugees arriving in Europe.

:)

Need to resolve the issue of migrants. The best way is to invest in the countries so they have less need to leave -that works out the best for everyone.

Except that doesn't work. Either the government is corrupt, and siphons of the investment funds, or it disappears en-route to the needy, but it's been show that these so called investment programs still aren't working. Just look at what Bob Geldof started, and yet nothings changed, andy now a lot of charity money gets lost to the advertising companies, or the extremely well paid MDs.
