Is he a villain? Is he a good man? Is it possible to be both?

I don't know & thanks to our MSM we'll never be able to form a valid opinion.

He’s a scoundrel

if he gets kicked out he will have to leave russia

or get lynched

I was musing earlier today, about the 'riot' police on the street... They must be weighing up their futures- bit like collaborators in France and the ChI in the war. If Pootn goes, what's their exit strategy? I suspect they are watching the way the wind is blowing all the time.

His demise is not in doubt but it could be a good while yet into the future

He fears a Ukraine type up rising

it’s when the shooting of demonstaters starts

Did he do so of its own volition, or kicking and screaming though?

i think he voluntarily returned

Benazir Bhutto voluntarily returned to Pakistan she was very stupid to do that she was warned by numerous people not to

and payed the price with her life

not quite the same as this Russian situation but he is likely to be banged up for a good while

One of Putins associates made a good point, he said that if Russia wanted this bloke Navalny dead he would be dead.
Lots of ways they could have got rid of him without causing to much of a fuss.
The problem with these so called 'pro democracy' activists is that you don't really know anything about them apart from what the Western media decide to tell you about them.
The was another one of these pro democracy chaps who was found shot dead in Moscow a few years ago, the western media claimed that Putin had the bloke bumped off but if the Russian state had bumped him off, why did they allow news of his murder to be broadcast on their state media.
Other sources claimed that the victim had been bumped off by the Chechen mafia because he was planning to expose their criminal activities.

yes, they do kill irritating people, and don't make much of a secret of it, as a tool of intimidation.

Problem is, killing a popular campaigner will bring out a lot more opposition, and Czar Putin is already shaken by the widespread and open loss of popularity.

When he was a KGB officer in Berlin when the wall fell, he was in favour of bringing out the tanks and machine-gunning the crowds. But no senior officer would order such action. Scared of being hanged from a lamp-post.

An unpopular dictator can fall quickly if he loses legitamacy. His forces will take care to be on the winning side. Remember Romania.

How popular is this bloke, he seems to be a fringe individual who has been built up by western media to be a credible threat to Putin.

Clever use of CGI to inflate the size of the crowd.

Well he managed to get massive enough protests that 4,000 of them were arrested over every major city in Russia.

What CGI? Don't tell me you're going full 'they faked the moon landing, look at the oixels' on us.

For a country the size of Russia 4000 isn't a lot.
Best to look behind the scenes to see who is pulling this blokes strings.
To find that out, you just have to follow the money.

Navalny was endorsed by the exiled oligarch Mikhail Khodorkovsky
