Tough on crime, tough on..

Arresting an 80 year old woman for prodding a hoody with her stick

Yes , she was charged with assault I believe.
I think she just prodded her finger in his chest whilst she was remonstrating with him.

From what I read in the papers the prosecutor said that had the defendant accepted her criminality in prodding the aggrieived in the chest there and then, this could well have been dealt with in a different way.
She admitted assault only after deliberation between CPS and her defence.
Not in a million years would I have backed down.

How can it be said that someone is a criminal for poking a youth in the chest with your finger and accepting criminality there and then would somehow lead to the case being dealt with in a different way?

Only a few weeks ago police were telling us not to call them regarding louts interferring with our lives but instead call the local council and let them deal with the problem.
How is that supposed to work?
Yet they have plenty of time to send officers around to arrest an old lady sick of being attacked by louts in her neighbourhood.
It all stinks to high heaven.
We (the taxpayer) pay their wages and its about time they had their wages docked for bad service to the public.

After a decade of pc labour, the pc is now pc; criminals are victims of society. As we can not all be victims, that must mean that the victims of the criminals are the real culprits.
The old biddy should count herself lucky that she got off so lightly, those old folks just don't respect youngsters anymore.

I wonder what would have happened if it had been Brown's mum. Under a socialist government we are all equal of course, the fact that th pm has armed bodyguards supplied by us doesn't alter his understanding of the lack of safety of the general public.

Makes you wonder, with the gradual decline of respect, decency, manners, ethics & general morality, what this country will be like in 50 yrs time.

Possibly Islamic State by then?

TBH I don't mind it becoming Islamic as I think we will all be better off.
I would rather live under shahira law as one that incarcerates elderly pensioners.

I do like the idea of freedom, stoning somebody for having sex outside marriage is not my idea of having fun.
All religion that I know, apart from Buddhism, is in essence totalitarian. Where hitler ruled, criminals were dealt with; that doesn't mean I'd vote for him.

What kind of freedom is it when pensioners cannot go out through their front door for fear of getting stoned by louts and realise no help is available from police?

Well if you don't commit the deed then you have nowt to worry about. ;)

I have plenty to worry about, as do most people. How many people in this country can honestly say they have not had sex outside the marriage? The current/English version of the koran is sanitised, just like the bible, but the closer you get to the "original" version, the more savage it gets. I can't read arabic, so can't vouch for the truth regarding this, but it is common knowledge that the islam was known to openly teach that it is ok to murder the unfaithful man, and rape his woman if they did not want to convert. In your case that wouldn't be a problem, but I would be in deep sjit if the ayatollah go to rule here.

So, no pubs, no scantily clad women in the summer, and no more bacon sandwiches. I can hardly wait.

Went to the local park a few weeks ago on a nice warm day, and half the people were sunbathing topless, would that be allowed under the ayatollah's reign?

Big gut, small t i t s, (****ing swearfilter  )I'd prefer it the other way around to be honest.

You would be classed as an infidel and probably executed. Do you still want to live in an Islamic stste?

I wouldn't be too bothered living under Shakira law.

I happen to think she's got quite a good singing voice.
