Triple Lock Plus.

It's a place where some people find it hard, really hard, to make ends meet. You are an utter disgrace when you denigrate people like that.

I used to have renters in S Wales, the vaaaleys. The returns were around 10%. Prices were stupid low because there were very few jobs. A lot started with a job but lost it during the tenancy. I got a couple of the tenants doing up their own and the others houses in lieu of rent. I got the tittle tattle, and some tenants who really cared sbout the place they lived in. Seemed quite good even though I lost out financially.
If I'd evicted them the places would have needed decorating anyway, then empty, then the same sort of tenant.
It was quite sad when oneex army guy finally turned to booze or drugs or something and he had to go. Hhis woman had already gone, poor sod. Again, if the council owned the place he may have had more choice. I felt like being a landlord made me part of the welfare system, which was wrong.
I don't suppose the Duke of Westminster has those issues.

Ate you seriously trying to say it's no harder now than it was, for the VAST majority ?

Don’t forget Deliveroo and Uber eats. I include my own son in that and get this, they are due to have a new baby in about a week (first born is now 5 years old) so they dug out his old buggy and had it ‘professionally cleaned'. Eighty fùcking quid! And they tell me that was cheap - it’s normally around £130. Lazy bar stewards!

Those are the ones still living with their parents, (or already on £120k p.a. and with their own house) ;-)

(As Aveatry is making stuff up, I thought I'd join in (y) )

I blame the parents.......... ;-)

And you have the gaul to say "Aveatry is making stuff up" --- go away - haven't you got any wood to chop !
And no they are renting - but they are trapped there by the greedy landlord

We couldn’t have had two kids with attitudes so far apart. Saying that, our daughter and her husband have a cleaner and when they are both working from home, they go out for an expensive coffee in an artisan bakery so that they are not 'under her feet'. They even pay her train fare and travelling time!
