It's now dawned on the Conservative party members that whoever wins the leadership contest, Sunak or Truss, they're doomed to fail, neither will cope with the problems facing our country today. Johnson for all his faults, and we know he had many faults, probably would have, as he did with Brexit and covid.
I'm pleased to see that you eventually agree the a) Brexit was a big failure, and b} it failed because of Johnson.

Yes the economy improved (until) covid but the rate of growth was consistent with the rates seen under Obama.
No wars were started under Obama either. Trump portrays himself as being the president of peace, and yet there were far more drone strikes during his 4 year presidency than during Obama's 8 years. We have no idea how many innocent civilians were killed because Trump decreed that the US no longer report such trivialities. The guy even signed off on a secret CIA drone base in Africa.
After the assassination of general Qasem Soleimani, Trump, in an effort to look hard, warned Iran that he would commit war crimes, namely bombing 52 Iranian sites of cultural importance if they retaliated. The Iranians called his bluff and for the first time ever, openly bombed US bases in a foreign country (Iraq). Over 100 US troops had to be flown to Germany for percussion injuries. Trump's response? He said that a few troops had slight headaches.
Immigration- the success of his wall policies are difficult to judge. The majority of illegal immigrants in the USA did not cross the boarder but overstayed their visas. I don't recall any Trump policies to reduce the latter- oh, he did temporarily ban people from certain countries where the majority of people follow the third Abrahamic faith for applying for asylum, but they were asylum seekers, not illegals.
