Of course the FBI gave him a copy two days ago which he could publish, but I guess he really is that bad at keeping track of important paperwork.

Good news everyone, they weren't searching for nuclear weapons documents. Apparently the documents they were looking for covered methods and sources for the US intelligence agencies.

He had already said they could take any documents they wanted and during a previous visit from fbi and they had already took loads of documents .
They said yep you keep them in that room but we want this special lock put on the room for the time being .So no urgency
Now biden is on the ropes and lowest ever in opinion poles american economy in turmoil and people are backing trump and with the primaries coming up the republicans looking like they will romp it .
So trump announces he will stand in 2024 .
Now here is the twist the fbi say they were tipped off by a mole in the trump household so go in heavy handed to raid the house with 30 agents all on the media the attorney general initially says he didnt know then admits he does biden denying he knew nothing either despite saying he wants trump prosecuted ..
So has trump set them up knowing there is absolutely nothing there after all he had the power to declassify anything he took before leaving office

Yes, he had the power but from what I read, he didn’t follow the procedure such as filling in forms, documenting them and then taking them home. He just took them and considered that in his mind that was good enough. A bit like a shoplifter trying to pay for goods after he has been caught leaving the store.
