AlJ interviewed a few more people that came out - than the beeb did. One had a pass to get out and it seems can also get one to go back in. A lady. A bloke that escaped rather than legally coming out mentioned people who he thought were mad wanting to become part of Russia. The way he spoke it wasn't a few. He pointed out there was no work and that they had worked for Ukrainian companies. 
Maybe he is a Russian sympathiser let out to provide false info.
Supposedly some ballot papers come with soldiers in areas that can have problems and some don't.
Reality really - who knows. I don't.
A report about Russians being locked up for demo's mentioned ~700 - the source often used for that sort of info. Others put it higher. Sizes of demo's vary.

Dictators do not waste time using common sense when common thuggery is far more effective.Common sense might dictate to these dictators to come up with a more plausible ( fiddled) figure

once the referendum results are ratified (results are already in), these become Russian cubs and will have full protection from the mother
Within weeks, possibly days, Russia will declare war on UK-rain if the regions are attacked.
That means the current special operations becomes a war against terrorists and will result in a a quick death for UK-rain command and control.
UK-rain areas will then be taken by Pooland and Hungary
The west however has also lost this war and will never ever recover. It is finished economically. If you doubt that for one second, you have your head buried. USA has achieved its objective of deindustrialised Germany (the centre of the EU)

Must admit I have wondered about that as I feel the US is more capable of managing the damage.
With what? The only bit of tech Russia has that it hasn't used is nukes. They could use them but that'll turn the entire world against them. India and China won't put up with it.
Russia have been saying they're fighting NATO because some NATO countries have donated kit. They've been stopped dead by around 1% of NATOs equipment (and some seriously dedicated and smart Ukrainians) They really don't want a conventional war.

I really don't buy the "Russia has run out of arms" line. So much worse if it has, they can use their bigger ones. They don't have to use nuke warheads.

Russia may have a reserve of tanks and planes, but they've lost a huge army against a second/third rate force. There is no reason to expect them to suddenly become competent if facing American formations.
There is no heavier equipment to use, except nukes. Otherwise at best it's more of the same stuff and people they've been failing to win with.

They are having to buy drones from Iran as they never bothered with there own tech

They may well have vast stocks of tanks rusting away in ware houses some where but it’s never been corrrctly maintained
