Velux fitted just under ridge tiles - is this right?

Can anyone confirm if this is good practice. Roofer has just replaced glass in roof with velux window but he has fitted it so ridge tiles are immediately above rather than a row of tiles then ridge tiles. We asked him to move it down but he has advised its ok?
Should I insist before paying him?

This gives an incorrect clearance in the back gutter.
It's not possible to see what has been done with trimmers.
It needs to come down around 10 or 12 inches .

Should be 60 - 150 clearance at the top to tile/ridge tile, top side fittings look as if they are not located correctly, installation looks a bit bodgy. Suggest you call Velux customer support and ask their opinion

It can not come down 100 mm . It's tile course dependant . So needs to come down a whole course

Not entirely right but can see where you are coming from

The roofer has fitted the window over the existing opening, I daresay to achieve the necessary tile above the rooflight would have necessitated messing with the trimmers and plasterboard cheeks, no doubt not discussed beforehand or allowed for in the quote.

We suggested a shorter velux so would just need to add trim work internally and tile above it and leave plaster work. But he's now removed most internal plaster work too!

Why's he done that then? Your second pic shows the new rooflight with the existing cheeks in place?
