Weapons shortage

"It took less than 48 hours after Russia unleashed a massive missile and drone bombardment of Ukraine this month for the aptly named “You Have Enraged Ukrainians” crowdfund to raise almost $10mn to buy 50 kamikaze drones.

“Thank you generous and noble Ukrainians,” celebrity turned fundraiser Serhiy Prytula, who helped organise the campaign, wrote on social media. “We will make sure these funds are well spent on effective support of our armed forces!”

Prytula is one of the more visible of the tens of thousands of ordinary citizens who have joined Ukraine’s war effort since President Vladimir Putin of Russia launched his all-out invasion of their country in February.

They form a shadow army of activists, from youthful computer wizards to patriotic pensioners, determined to do their bit. Their fervour also reflects a recent Gallup poll which showed that almost three-quarters of Ukrainians believe the country should keep fighting until the Russians are defeated and pushed out.

With Moscow having failed in its initial war aim of subjugating Ukraine quickly, the Kremlin’s latest plan is to break the will of its people with almost daily rocket strikes that have already destroyed a third of the energy plants — just as winter is coming....

...If anything, though, the Russian strategy which was stepped up on October 10 has so far only strengthened Ukrainians’ resolve."

Well, who could have seen that coming?
People should step up here. I would happily spend a week out in Ukraine helping them repair their infra. Where are the european humanitarian coordinations?

Ukranians need to stop at all costs the Russians from blowing up the Hydro dam. If they do that.. well the Russians absolutely should go down for that act alone. Anyone who for one minute believes 'Nato creep' is justification for genocide then they need their heads examined.

I seem to remember all the 'experts' saying modern warfare would no longer require boots on the ground in justification of less troops.

Whilst it can be argued much of what's going on in Ukraine isn't exactly 'modern warfare', I think we (in terms of protecting the UK and/or our involvement in other conflicts) have been foolhardy to scale back our troops and quantity of military equipment.

according to reports putin has 10000 russian troops in belarus ??

concerns about them opening another front in the war ???? possibly ??

justification for genocide
The attitude to genocide law wise is different to other areas of wars which is why Ukraine mention it. However the word has a very specific meaning.

Its a win win situation, sell these countries a load of defence gear and then sell a load of gear to another country to bomb the **** out of the first country you sold gear to.

Curious title for this thread.
When you consider that the worlds biggest exporter of processed Uranium is Russia.
America is still an importer of Russian processed Uranium, why didn't Biden ban the import of Russian Uranium.?

Their Iskander missiles require western made components, which explains why they've run out of them
Absolutely astounding.
The country that beat the Americans in the space race, now require assistance from the country's they liberated from the Nazis.
Maybe the Russians need to abduct a western scientist who has a Nobel prize in Milk bottle technology for large rockets.

They won the first stage of the space race, but after the Moon missions they more or less gave up.

But I don't think even you can claim that Russia liberated the US from Nazi occupation.
