My first job at 16 was as an apprentice mechanic, I was assigned to working with a technician and a Sierra came in for its annual service, low and behold the technician discovered his favourite screwdriver sat on top of the suspension top mount he'd lost a year earlier.

Why do they call them technicians these days? .....just sounds silly.

I suppose it's easily done if you're busy and get distracted. Not as bad as the surgeons who leave forceps and other bits of medical equipment inside patients when they sew them up.

That’s an OEM part to save time during service visits 
Years ago I was changing spark plugs on a Peugeot 505 V6. Some were really awkward to access and I ended up using one of those short bars which you can use a spanner on the shank. Of course I dropped it and at first I couldn't even see it, never mind retrieve it. Anyway, after lots of wiggling about etc I eventually got it... but it wasn't my one, it was (I can only assume) the last guy's one, I never found mine!
