Yes I know, but forgot about Jewish. Of course it's as inhumane as is Halal (which, like kosher is exempt legally from stunning in the UK on religious grounds).Milk production means that calves are taken from their mothers, most are then slaughtered very quickly. This is relevant to milk, cheese, butter, yoghurt etc.
Eggs are produced in unpleasant conditions.
You don't mention Jewish ritual slaughter. Compliance with the dietary laws insists that animals are not stunned. Some might consider this to be inhumane.
Yet Halal meat can be stunned before slaughter. Some might consider this to be humane.
Here's your link. See article 18.

Shouldn't have to insist it, it should come naturally as the more 'advanced' species on the planet. We are supposed to understand kindness aren't we?Because it is (probably) impossible to insist that all, or indeed any, Jewish ritual slaughter must be stunned, I don't believe that it would be acceptable to insist that all Moslem ritual slaughter must be stunned.
Neither do I have a problem with prayer. It's the rest of the process I have a problem with. It's about 80% of the meat with stun, but that's still 20% too much - that's a fair few animals suffering a gruesome end to it's miserable life.I find some relief in the knowledge that most meat sold in the UK as Halal has been humanely slaughtered, and gains its status by having a prayer said over it. I have no objection to people saying prayers.
Yes, of course, goes without saying. I was responding to your last post about Halal and prayer, which is why I highlighted your post and wrote directly underneath it.100% too much, surely, if you mean Kosher?
About time, fecking tree rats are a blight.I've changed my mind.. am very pleased now the UK voted out!
The EU have decided to put a big cull list out of non-native species, including my much liked grey squirrel.
Everything has its uses like flies and bacteria. There is a time and place though. How very manly of you all.
Did you know that rats help find land mines left over from wars, and even TB? Kudos where it's due.
Yes some of us have to do s**t jobs that no one else will do. I'll be digging drains next week and messing about with other peoples' s**t. Ho hum, tough world innit. How very manly of you all.
Totally agree! But what makes humans the master of them all and in charge of animal's destiny whenever it suits us?Everything has its uses like flies and bacteria. There is a time and place though. How very manly of you all.
