Big yellow transformer, converts 230v to 110v for use with a concrete breaker. No fuse in the plug, what size do I need?

The size of the fuse required is determined by the transformer' maximum safe working wattage.

With out knowing that cannot give an answer.

The instruction manual may provide the answer.

and there should be a makers rating plate on the thing.

A majority of the tool type transformers also have a thermal cutout on the side of them, what size transformer is it (KVA)?

If it's a 750 VA transformer it will use a 13amp fuse, as that's mine uses (it's the fuse that it came with)

Mine also as a thermal cutout on the side of it.

750 VA at 240V is only a bit over 3 Amps. So a 5A fuse would be correct.

So why did it come with a 13 amp fuse Fitted (It's made by CED) :?:
