Rugby, some school, otherwise I had a pretty good childhood in retrospect.

Used to be smashing the stick over players left right and centre.

One game a stick got broken.

Dentists. As a kid, mine was a former rugby player who seemed to enjoy inflicting pain. Biggest relief was having general anaesthetic when a tooth needed extracting.

General anaesthetic? For a tooth! Jeepers!

just had a procedure done on me snozz. He used the same stuff dentists use for the numbing. Made my eyes water when he jabbed me for the eighth or ninth time especially when he went close to my eye. Had a good chat about cricket though...

Wasn't unusual in the 70s. Dentist got the anaesthetist in, few lungfulls of ether and it was goodnight Vienna. All painless, which was a first for the b'stard. All on the NHS too. Did have to drink a lot of tomato soup for a few days after though.

Hope you feel like a new man with the nose-job. That may be your new name.
