I'm thinking of setting up a forum where people who don't have a clue about certain DIY tasks can ask others who do have a clue, what is best to do.I bought the most expensive one that B&Q had. Never seen mastic this ‘wet' before. It had the texture of cream cheese.

I did! I hardly ever get replies when I ask genuine DIY questions though.I'm thinking of setting up a forum where people who don't have a clue about certain DIY tasks can ask others who do have a clue, what is best to do.
You should have asked, Mottie!

Should have asked on the GD forum!I did! I hardly ever get replies when I ask genuine DIY questions though.
I’m replacing the bath screen and re-masticking the bath. I’ve removed the screen, removed the taps (will be too difficult to mastic with taps in situ as very little space between taps and wall) and removed the old mastic. My problem is that at the tap end, I have an 11mm gap between the tile edge and the bath top. I filled it with mastic last time I did it but Mrs Mottie says it looks like I’ve just squeezed the toothpaste tube out! What would be the best way to fill that gap and mastic? I was thinking of getting some waterproof grout, go all round the three edges of the bath, let it go...
