Ahh - how could I

Yes, Middle English was closer to German than the language we speak now but the folk who spoke it regarded themselves as English, distinct from the Norman (Plantagenet) rulers. We used a lot of German at the time of Chaucer, the nobility spoke French. The brummie accent is closest to how we spoke then
Like football you mean?Morris Dancing?
English folk music? - That's a broad spectrum these days.
Regional traditions such as obscure sports.
Like football you mean?
no but.."yeah, but..."
That list seems to be more Yorkshire than EnglandEnglish culture is unique. It's shaped through centuries of being secure from invasion and through the language we speak. This contributes to the national character that most unconsciously have. It's fast being eroded by eastern influences which will continue to ruin this once great country.
Tea drinking
Self deprecating
Pothole avoiding
Saying sorry, please
Love of queuing
Cricket loving
Walking t'dog
Not complaining
Stiff upper lip
Dry wit and humour
Gardening crazy
Politeness
Seasonal traditions
Ability to buy fireworks year round
Acceptance of tasteless food
Unarmed police when actually they all need to be armed
Is it all that bad. The erosion of culture if anything is from American influences.Classic examples of how currently English culture means we are blind to things that are going to remove that very thing from us:
Driving standards going to pot, this is England not Pakistan or Turkey
Littering - getting worse every year, in line with immigration from 3rd world countries and general lack of moral standards
Capital of Culture - giving this to Bradford is an absolute joke
We can all work together to preserve the good parts
Not really. Englishness appears to be devoid imho of any culture. Tea and scones apart, Englishness says lager lout and I’m failing to identify its value to me. Did I say my heritage is Welsh? Now that must get a few English heckles up.
Has any of this discussion so far helped you? I wasn't totally clear what you wanted to know.

Nonsense.Queuing.
Only an English person can make a proper queue. Woe betide anybody not following the unwritten rules of the Queue.
