What is this country coming to?

"LONDON — England faces a “disastrous” loss of more than a quarter of its heart surgeons and almost a third of children’s heart doctors unless Prime Minister Theresa May finds a way for EU citizens working in the National Health Service to stay in the country after Brexit.

A POLITICO analysis of NHS records of health care professionals’ seniority, specialty and location in England shows that more than a third of the 10,300 non-British European doctors work in surgery and anesthetics. In some areas, the NHS is dependent on a small number of European specialists, including for the diagnosis of brain disease, allergies and nervous disorders such as epilepsy."

Free riding foreigners

There is also anecdotal evidence that is even more frightening but undoubtedly true. There are stories of heavily pregnant women arriving in the UK because childbirth qualifies for emergency care and the child would be British, thereby providing the mother with residency rights. There are tales of families relocating because a child has severe congenital or acquired illness and of large numbers of patients with HIV coming to the UK because that is their only hope of getting effective treatment. There are even stories of patients landing at Heathrow in kidney failure and being blue-lighted to hospital for dialysis.

Not long before the anti-foreigner card is played by the bitter Quitters.

Pathetic

But the embittered anti-foreigner brigade on here won't see it that way.

Where do you find this propaganda?

I hope you aren't planning to emigrate to GB after the reunification

Unlikely you'll ever live to see it.
Good chance you'll see brexit.
And all because you never listened to peoples concerns about immigration.
You truly got what you deserve.

He's certainly very short on numbers and evidence. Do you suppose he doesn't like foreigners?

Here are some numbers for you.

"NHS staff from overseas: statistics
Published Monday, April 10, 2017
12% of NHS staff in England are nationals of a country other than the UK. This includes 5.5% (just over 60,000) who are nationals of other EU countries.

Nationals of other EU countries make up almost 10% of doctors in England's hospital and community health services. They also make up 7% of all nurses and almost 5% of scientific, therapeutic and technical staff."

http://researchbriefings.parliament.uk/ResearchBriefing/Summary/CBP-7783

"The NHS Digital data also shows an increase in other members of NHS staff leaving the health service. In total, 6,391 EU workers quit in the three months after the EU referendum, compared with 4,125 in the same period in 2015 – a 55% increase. The increase in the number of EU staff employed by NHS England in the same period was 15%."

"Figures from the Nursing and Midwifery Council show a 90% drop in the number of nurses from EU states registering to join in December."

Nurses from Europe are turning their backs on Britain, according to new figures showing the number registering to work here since the Brexit referendum has fallen by 90 per cent.

Just 101 nurses and midwives from other European nations joined the register to work here last month - a drop from 1,304 in July, the month immediately after the referendum, official figures show."

You are a complete ****ing idiot. The article was about freeloading foreigners coming here for NHS treatment and you quote statistics on foreign employees of the NHS?! WTF? I don't think anyone is against hardworking, qualified foreigners coming over here to work in the NHS, live, pay taxes and raise their families. If the families of those workers need NHS treatment, that's perfectly reasonable too.

I was just about to say the same - but that's what the three musketeers do.

I voted remain and am not against immigration (being one) but the tactics, of denying anything is wrong anywhere, of JD really pιss me off.

Agreed, nobody in their right mind would object.
So what about all those hard working foreigners who work in other sectors than the NHS? Are they and their families allowed NHS treatment too?

concerns about immigration.

yep, Brexit was an anti-foreigner vote.

Tell me again, how will leaving the EU affect immigration from India and China? The two countries that most of our immigrants come from.
