What would you have loved to learn at school?

That teachers really aren't the best people to give careers advice.

IT, marketing - I might have avoided 12 years in banking.

Since most pupils will eventually live in their own house, I would have thought that a 2 years course in DIY techniques would have been far more beneficial to many of us rather than the old woodwork and metalwork courses that all male pupils in 4 year secondary school had to endure when I was a lad. And even those who went on to higher education would have benefitted too.

Mathematics/Algebra (Yes know it's a core subject - don't ask lol)
Computing.
Plastering
Electronics
Personal finance management.
How to get the girls... :)

What I did not need was:
History
P.E.
Languages.

General home maintenance, such as basic electrics, plumbing, decorating, (paint and wallpaper), home finance, (how to budget your wage packet based on percentages rather than actual figures as these change with the seasons!) and maybe a bit of gardening.
I think these subjects would also give you a better idea of what you might want to do career wise when you let school.

pretty much anything useful really. It’s still geared up to make slaves of our children. Completely nonsensical ,totally outdated and not fit for purpose .

Here we go again, another pointless thread by Nathan/tea Boy Jim.

What's next, your favorite toilet paper?

Herts P&D typing 'here we go again, another pointless thread ...' makes me lol. I picture a group of mates meeting in the pub each Friday night and one of them always starts an apparently pointless conversation, leading to Herts P&D saying 'here we go again!'

Rinse and repeat every Friday :)
