Where is truss?

Any bets on how many times the words "growth" or "trickle down" will be uttered during the day?

A round-up of her media splash - where she tells a couple of porkies and says it's the Russians to blame for our economic crisis.
The Tories have found the answer to de Piffle is his clone...in a skirt.

edit: actually she's the new model of the Maybot. The Trussbot is upon us. Cower ye mortals and embrace the fear, for 'tis all ye'll have to keep ye warm this winter!

Why on Earth would a Prime Minister choose 8 regional radio outlets.

A = because she is scared of facing any mainstream presenters who would challenge her.

This govt is truly disgusting. They deliberately chose not to call this a budget to avoid it being scrutinised by OBR and parliament and now she is avoiding public scrutiny.
They were pre-booked in advance the Conservative party conference.

There's plenty of reasons to critique Truss, but those early morning interviews aren't a good area. There's a load of on camera interviews being filmed today for release at 5, probably to avoid the market imploding in real time.

The local broadcasters did a good job with the limited time they had, but it was too short.

Her interviews have done nothing to reassure the markets according to Kitty Donaldson

The Tory Conference next week is going to be a car crash of entertainment. I wonder what de Piffle will do?

It seems she has an answer and it's always the same - the problem is Ukraine and the world situation nothing to do with her "budget".

C4 dug out a small Tory MP supporter. He blames the lot on the BofE for selling bonds as things stopped when they stopped doing that. The problem really is lack of detail in the plans. Not even costings really.

Anyway - all depts to look at reducing costs. Doctors sorted, NHS too, roads, and even it seems cheaper child care.

The BofE has become critical as financial institutions have been hit. Hence buying gov debt. The BofE reckons it all needs scrutiny by experts.

The current prime minister and the next prime both remainers lol

Blup

You know who the next prime minister will be? That's some real inside knowledge. ;)

Doris was an instinctive remainer, who changed sides for his career. Truss was an instinctive remainer who changed sides for her career. Pound to a penny the next incumbent will be the same. Hardly conviction politicians, unless you count Boris' party prosecution.

Don't suppose it will be long before they have to spin the wheel and try another new leader. And Starmer still can't make an impression.

We've got an untried and until quite recently unknown bird in charge now and a front bench of affirmatives. No wonder the pound/economy is in freefall. No one has confidence in a tick-box government of lightweight unknowns. But at least it meets diversity legislation. (y)

Basically - we're screwed. :(

We are if this "diversity legislation" places limitations on the gender of the PM.
Fortunately, as far as I am aware, there is no such legislation.

Strategically Labour are missing an opportunity to go for PR with the Lib Dems and move to the left on key policies like nationalisation, but it will be another 5 years of Blairism, and the ratchet effect of British politics moving ever further to the right will be continued.

Blup

the Labour conference produced some pretty good policies whilst avoiding Tory attack lines

I understand your concern about Blairite neo liberalism continuing -but I think Labour are moving as far left as is realistic in the political climate.

I would just like to see some Politicians in power that talk like adults -Im so fed up of listening to Tory MPs sent out to do the media rounds and spouting non stop BS
