The prediction was either a resignation or the sack. Sunak may have gained from sacking him. He probably asked him to resign. More came out recently leading to yet more investigations and also past behaviour from an ex whip who did things for him. He likes to gain power over people in rather odd ways, near blackmail. That aspect probably finished him off.

The is no penalty for failure in Western politics, they get the top jobs and make a hash of them and then have to resign, next thing they are on the celebrity circuit getting paid 1000's.
What are the odds that Gavin will appear on "Get me out of here I'm a celebrity" along with Hancock.
 
Sunak has the advantage of being able to say he gave these vile people a chance.

Gavin it seems like to get the dirt on people and therefore it's fairly safe to assume he would use it. One instance in an email - someone who drank too much - no action, might be useful in the future.

Sunak isn't really doing too well during PM questions. His noises will be ok for some of the fathefull but I doubt if it will go down well with all. There seems to be some murmuring from his MP's too. Not many going on a the few who have talked on the box but who knows if it will grow.

£11.5b promised for foreign aid for climate suffering countries. No mention of how many years - as usual. 100 maybe.

£4b for schools. It's emerged that spend on schools is lower than it was years ago and has been declining in real terms. Fits in with an interview I heard on the box. A change that increated cost - reply once set up it''s cheaper. This announce amounts with no mention of what they are supposed to support is getting more common. They are nice big numbers.Total expenditure is getting on towards a trillion. Puts them into perspective.

NI problems. Blame the EU and legislate to change the duration before an election has to be held again. 6 weeks longer and then another 6 weeks. Allow civil servants to do some things - not clear who, police mentioned. Deficits and problems in various areas - not enough money figures. I wonder where that will come from. The last election changed the voting profile indicating some must be fed up.
