Hi all,

I need a wireless alarm, and it needs to be installed within the month, so I'm looking for someone else to do it, that knows what they're doing (because I clearly don't when it comes to electrics) and safe in the knowledge that all is ok, safe and working!

I would like additional functionality and control (via iPad or Internet), but above all I want a damn good alarm system!

CCTV is also desired, but I guess that is seperate from the alarm system...

Use the Galaxy. My preference. You might have some issues programming though. Not the easiest to work with if your a novice.

Next the Texecom, then the Scantronic. But think about the I-on 30
http://www.alertelectrical.com/prod...&utm_medium=web&utm_campaign=google-base-feed Gives you a base line.

Two sounders will push MA limits so go SCB with one at least.

£300.00 for fitting? You may want to recheck that.
Is there an existing spur? Are you providing one with certificates?
Free access available, no furniture to move about?
You want a certificate for insurance for the system?

What functions do you want via IP?
Remote setting? Not a good idea.

Your CCTV with IP is a better idea for remote access.
Then you could also use video verification after an activation. Using an output from the alarm to the DVR.

I agree with ^^ Galaxy is the better choice, also a personal preference, Get it all good with the insurance. :D

Ok will do without the remote setting for the Texecom.
Not sure what Wintex software does then?

Furniture is not in the way.
Control panel location has working electrics already in the vicinity, and there is a spur.
Same for the bell box sounders, as the loft is converted.

Insurance wise, I found in my last house that insurance approved alarm ade no difference to the house insurance premium. So not bothered about a certificate, just want the peace of mind of security.

I questioned the installer of the Tex, and he said he could knock off £100 max from his quote overall.

Not sure what speech dialler he has in with the Texe 24 control panel for £85 inclusive?

wintex alows you to program the system without having to go through countless menus on the keypad control.

i have just bought the texecom usb com interface myself so i can take advantage of wintex.

Fitting a lot of them then?
Wintex is not worth purchasing for one system.
It makes sense when you have a few thousand systems, the same as other remote servicing suites. It is good to get a onsite printout, and you can be sure your engineers are doing it correctly .

your a cheaky sod lol, anyway some of my friends have took a interest in my texecom system, looks like quite a few texecom systems are going to be installed in my town soon.

Good, they are a decent system.

I like the RKP with the large text ( good for our older or less sighted clients), although Castle do a good display too. Some of the smaller blue backlit LCD`s are a bit difficult for the aforementioned. (Sorry Cooper).

The Dimension touch screens are nice but still a bit expensive. But having the capability for adding a picture to it is a nice touch.

How will they nick that?
They wont be able to see it when the tamper kicks in!!!
