Hi all I need to go through a brick wall and connect swa I dont really want to pull the cable through a hole, although thats been the way before I would like a gland of sorts thats chunky enough to take the swa 4mm 3 core with a tube and a lock nut/washer on the inside I dont need to terminate the armour at this point and ideas

I only need to support the cable at its point of entry (all terminations will be done on the inside,) with a gland of sorts I have considered modifying a brass gland with some steel conduit as the tread sould be the same But if there is something available commercially it would save time

Ban, cos it's pig ugly any other way with sealant all over the cable and wall
done it, not happy with it, the cable will sag, water will get in, etc etc it has to exit the soffit run along it for 2 mtr then jump across to two other buildings,

Really can't envisage it myself. Any chance of a picture to better explain the situation?

FWIW, if you drill the hole carefully, the correct size, sloping upwards from the outside and use a little quality sealant, it should give a neat and weathertight job.

Oh, and compression glands are easily available up to 32mm, PG29 and larger, which should be no problem for 4mm SWA.

Hello Maguire.

What's happenening to the SWA once it goes through the wall  ?

Could you not terminate the SWA into a weatherproof enclosure outside and run the 'tails' in conduit from the enclosure to where it wants to go ??
Just a thought.

would it be acceptable to put plastic conduit through the wall, securing it in place with an outdooor gripfill sort of thing, then thread the cable through that?

Why not gland into a 25mm conduit end box on the outside wall and run the inner cores through the wall in some conduite bushed into the back of the box?

That usually looks pretty neat.

some good ideas there folks will give them some thought I got a new raspberry so I nwill post some pics before and after as it is someone has run 4mm T&E in the attic and out to two steel containers that have a CU in each and no thet are not earthed scary or what
