Its a right pain doing the festive lighting in busy town centres as you have to lay out the displays on the ground which people will just walkover without a care. Then theres the task of getting the tower in position trying not to hit anything, We always started at six and worked until four on a sunday.
Some guys i worked with thought it was acceptable to use choc blocks and tape to connect lenghts of festoon harness.
My council obviously still think its perfectly acceptable, while most of the xmas lights they put up now use 16amp plugs/sockets, there is still a few choc blocks wrapped up in tape here and there.

If you live in my area you cannot call them Christmas lights as the council have deemed in several meetings (all paid for out of my inflation beating rising council tax) that saying 'Christmas' will offend all non-christian religions.
Therefore in the light of this (no pun indended) can we all start using either
a) Holiday lights,
b) 25th December lights
c) seasonal lights.
d) waste of f***ing money lights
