Smelt the coffee along time ago. Private Rgi's get away with murder. Whilst i appreciate a huge number of you are fine engineers it is time for a bit of pay back the slagging B/g engineers get on here is dreadful. I have seen plenty in 30yrs so do not patronise me. I have seen plenty of contractors work for us and they take short cuts, as at the end of the day they have no loyalty

and you thik La Gas do? dream on. they dont give a stuff about you pal.

Got this sent to me last week - another agency had sent me the details i posted earlier.

Further to our conversation please find details of British Gas contract below:

Domestic Servicing in private properties, 10/12 booked appointments a day, paid £20.00 per appliance i.e combi boiler and fire = £40 (£17.50 per appliance with van and fuel supplied), £30 per completed breakdown (£27.50 per completed breakdown with a van and fuel).

They are looking for engineers all over the country so if you know anyone who would like to come on board through us too then please get them to call me and I will register them.

Initially you will have to carry out a test online of 40 questions in 45 minutes, if you pass then you will have to go to one of the Academy’s to carry out a practical test, if you then pass this you will be invited to go on the training.

You will get paid £100 per day for the training, which will be paid once you start work.

The start date is approximately 8-10 weeks and they are looking for engineers who want long term contracts.

You will be paid two weeks in arrears then every Friday.

I'd have a rethink, just heard the figures bg are willing to pay to buy on a contractor workforce and they pale 65.00 a job, I'd say fill your boots, I already know of several bg guys who are subbing to their mates companies on potential strike days and earning much more than a days overtime!!

Each contractor can negotiate their own terms & my mate got it at £65/hour, straight hourly rate.

We have not spoken to them yet, our director that handles the service side is on holiday until Monday.

Just hope that any privateers that do work for B/Gas in the event of a strike realise what a world of pain they would be in for if they make even the slightest mistake. We live with it every day and know the pit falls and still come undone. The culture of safety within B/g whilst good is now becoming un workable. £65 an hour you are going to have to be bullet proof. Do not think it will be easy money. As they say in B/gas yours will be the last name attached to the job.

But that's the same for any work a RGI would undertake son, wake up & smell the coffee, a contractor is bullet proof!! For 65 sheets an hour, we can handle anything the BG suits throw at us. You CPS parts changers need a reality check!!

your no better thought of how good or bad you are at bg pal, la gas dont give sweet fa about you. I worked for them for 5 years and would never work again for those toe rags as long as i live. 80% of bg engineers are f*****g s***e mate ex window cleaners. So dont tell me that RGI are crap lad.

wont pass acs in your centers, you must be jokeing, a taxi driver asked me how to do a drop test again after spending a year in leeds

I went to a Job 1 month ago where they would not repair the system as she (old grannie) had not had a power flush.
Flushed system and replaced usual Cold Feed, Vent and Flow pipework.
Guy comes back out and says they will now cover system but she should consider a boiler swap as hers was rubbish (or words to that effect), she tells him while im there that he himself fitted the Ideal Classic he now wants to replace only 3 years earlier via BG.
