Bottom line, what are you trying to achieve?

answer?

That all RGI installers must be Part P registered to do their own electrical work.

Simple.

what about commercial ones?

You can change like for like.

Or just stick a plug on the end.
.

Fixed equipment must be wired to a FCU (BS7671)

Manufactures instructions also denote fixed equipment MUST be wired to a DOUBLE POLE Fused Connection Unit. How does a plug top possibly comply?????

A plug is fine, now who should read the regs.

.

1) You because you are wrong!

Sorry Vic doitall is not wrong, you are
a few points to note
1 connection via an unswitched socket is perfectly acceptable
2 MI's take preference over BS standards anyway (its called passing the buck)

3 how does a DOUBLE POLE socket outlet not comply?
now don't tell me you didn't know you could get them

MI tell you to obey BS, why can't people understand this???? They specifically mention BS7671 must be adhered to and yet not one person here appears to be knowlegable of the publication and yet spend nearly 3 hours arguing with me on the very same subject!
