No joe, I'd overtake the lorries in a appropriate lane. Generally I stay below 80 myself.

Lane 1 is the driving lane adjacent to the shoulder. A keep left rule applies.
Stay in lane 1 unless you are overtaking or accommodating traffic merging from the left.
The 2nd and 3rd lanes are overtaking lanes.
If you are overtaking, you will not be fined.

I disagree with the danger thing. If you and others followed the highway code you wish to have enforced nobody would be held up.

I'm sick and tired of middle lane morons (Sooey), especially the lorries that use several miles to overtake other lorries at a speed advantage of 1mph.
I wish I had a link to that YouTube video of the outside lane moron who stays in lane despite being flashed by an unmarked police car. Then he poos himself when the blue lights come on!
I especially like the tailgater rule. These are usually BMWs who want to show off how fast their car is when behind someone doing 100mph in the outside lane.

Thing is now joe you've now got just as much chance of getting banned for your driving style as I have for mine.
It's a decision we both make.
Btw I only drive at speed when it is safe to do so. Some people don't, I know that. Same can be said for people that sit in the middle lane at a fixed speed irrespective of the conditions.

Have you ever driven on the continent sooey? They have much better lane discipline there and it's not perceived as dangerous.
Look at Germany with the autobahn where it's unlimited. People can drive safely without speed limits providing all road users show respect to everyone else on the road.
Correction, when you think it's safe to do so.
So what happens when someone in the inside lane misjudges the excessive speed you are doing and pulls out just as you are overtaking them?
